Q: Do you shoot and edit wedding videos?

A: Short answer: no. Long answer: we leave wedding videos to the companies that specialize in producing wedding videos. Kaplan Studio is involved more with corporate and non-for-profit video production.

Q: Do I own the exclusive rights to the products Kaplan Studio
produces for me?

A: Yes. Most projects that we produce are yours and yours alone. Kaplan Studio has the right to show anything we produce in our portfolio, but we would never sell anything similar to your competition.

Q: I need a finished website and/or video in two weeks.
Can you create it for me?

A: 98% of the time we say no. It’s not that we don’t want to work with you, it’s because your timeline is unrealistic. Almost all web sites and videos take around 3-5 months to finish, so plan accordingly. Sometimes we can pull one out of left field, but we don’t like rushing a project. It really comes down to the issue of time vs. quality.

Q: I have some video footage that another company filmed.
Will you edit it for me?

A: Yes. As long as you get the written consent from the company that filmed the footage, we can more than likely edit it for you. We want to respect the copyrights of others just like we want them to respect ours.

Q: I’d like you to design a brochure for me, but I’d like to handle the printing of it. Will you give me the final files for the printer?

A: Of course. But we don’t recommend this process. Print management is a difficult task. There are so many printing variables that the average consumer doesn’t know. Kaplan Studio has years of experience handling professional printing and more than likely print management cost is already built into your quote. So why not take advantage of our skills?

Q: My aunt and uncle own a small print shop in my hometown.
Can we use them for printing my project?

A: Yes. But there are some advantages to using a printing company that Kaplan Studio has a long-standing relationship with. We’re comfortable using printers that we get to know for a lot of reasons. We know they’ll give us a competitive price and ensure great quality.

Q: Do you take professional photographs?

A: Although we’d love to say yes, we just aren’t professional photographers…yet. But Kaplan Studio can recommend some great photography companies, depending on your needs.

Q: I want to pull photographs from various internet sites for my brochure. Can you do this for me?

A: Of course we COULD, but we won’t for two reasons: 1) it’s illegal to use any copyrighted material or anything without official written consent; and 2) 95% of images on the internet aren’t high quality enough for printing. Don’t you want to be more original anyway? We have access to stock photography resources to find what you’re looking for.

Q: How much will my project cost?

A: There are too many variables to answer this question in one sentence or in one figure. Depending on your needs, Kaplan Studio fairly and accurately prices your project and provides you with a payment schedule. We usually don’t require you to pay the full amount at one time; we require a down payment and usually two more equal payments mid-way through the project and then the final payment upon delivery.
